Acquired by Boeing in 2008 as a wholly-owned subsidiary, the company focuses on military applications, providing tactical UAS like the ScanEagle and RQ-21A Blackjack, software, and services to government and commercial clients. Its UAS are often launched by pneumatic catapult and recovered by flying into a suspended cable. Insitu, which has offices in the US, UK, and Australia, settled a fraud case in 2021.
