Abode Communities is a nonprofit social enterprise that was founded in 1968 as an all-volunteer organization of architects. The organization is based in downtown Los Angeles, California and has developed nearly 50 affordable, supportive, and mixed-use residential communities. Abode Communities is the longest-established affordable housing provider in Southern California and is known for its multidisciplinary approach that includes architecture, property management, real estate development, and resident services. Abode Communities works to advance housing and social equity by creating creating service-enhanced affordable housing and socially-beneficial community facilities that promote the social, economic, and physical transformation of underserved communities.
