San Leandro is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. It is located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, located between Oakland to the northwest and Ashland to the southeast. The population was 90,103 in 2021. San Leandro was incorporated as a town on March 21,1872, one hundred years and a day after the area was first discovered. José Joaquin Estudillo, the first Spanish settler to reside in San Leandro and thus considered the founder of San Leandro.
