Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC) operates the Marion County Public Health Department, Eskenazi Health, Eskenazi Health Foundation, Indianapolis EMS and Long Term Care. HHC is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed by the Mayor of Indianapolis, the City-County Council and the County Commissioners. Our Mission is to promote and protect the health of everyone in the community and provide health care to those who are underserved. Formed in 1951, the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC) is a municipal corporation established by Indiana code 16-22-8. An appointed seven-member Board of Trustees governs HHC. the Mayor of Indianapolis appoints three members, the County Commissioners appoint two and the City-County Council appoints two, with staggered terms of four years each.
