RWJ - Barnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Monitor for our Sitter Unit, in our New Brunswick Facility. Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements: Night Shift, 16 hours per week, includes every other weekend and holidays. Essential Functions: Complies with patient care decisions made by the professional staff and accepts responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments and learning from feedback Follows all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and procedures Observes and reports patient s conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse Maintains strict patient confidentiality Observes and applies appropriate interventions Maintains a safe and orderly work/patient care environment Assists patients with daily living activities (i.e.; feeding, dressing patients, showering/bathing). Transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patients Assures patients have correct ID bands Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner Handles and disposes of infectious and hazardous materials per policies and procedures Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy Patient Monitoring Maintains confidentiality of patient information Suicide Monitoring: Maintains safety of patients by remaining within an arms distance at all times Close Observations: maintains safety of close observation patients per policy Safe Patient Handling Effective use of Handle with Care Techniques Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
