Rutgers Community Arts invites applications for various summer 2026 coadjutant positions in Rutgers Summer Arts Institute. Positions include Instructors and Day and Residential Specialists. Instructors may teach individual classes, masterclasses or workshops to pre-college students in middle and high school for MGSA Departments: Art & Design, Dance, Filmmaking and Music. Day and Residential Specialists are responsible for supervising students registered in our programs and are required to work on site for the duration of that contract. Residential Specialists are required to reside on campus for duration of the contract. All hires must comply with all university policies and procedures and complete the Rutgers Protection of Minors training. Position Status Part Time Posting Number 26 FA 0076 Posting Open Date 01/28/2026 Posting Close Date 06/01/2026 Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience A bachelor’s degree and professional experience in performance and instruction is required for Instructors. Instructors who lack a bachelor’s degree but possess considerable professional experience and a demonstrated record of professional success/achievement; and/or are currently enrolled in a degree program pertinent to the camp may be hired for this position. Specific knowledge and skill in the artform they are teaching is a must as well as familiarity with any necessary equipment and/or software as it pertains to the specific course if required. Problem solving and independent judgement in teaching and classroom management is required A high school degree and knowledge of performing arts are required for Day/ Residential Specialist. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and ability to work with children of all ages. Certifications/ Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment | Physical demands could include working with equipment pertinent to their artform, physical movement in dance/theater depending on the specific course taught. Working with children of all ages and chaperoning students from site to site on campus.
