Twelve-month, Open-Rank Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Florida International University invites applications for two open-rank teaching positions which will be based primarily at the Modesto Maidique Campus. These are 12-month, non-tenure track positions starting August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of first year and introductory mathematics courses, including those for non-science majors, using evidence-based instructional practices. Teaching assignments may include teaching hybrid or fully online courses. Job responsibilities are teaching and service; these include teaching four courses (12 credits) each in Fall and Spring semesters, and three courses (9 credits) during the Summer semester and providing service to the department, college, and university. Required Qualifications:PhD. or Masters degree plus 4-6 teaching experience; degree and experience must be in Mathematics or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics is required to be certified to teach. Preferred Qualifications:Experience or training in using evidence-based active learning-focused classroom practices. Demonstrated experience in first-year mathematics courses at the university level.
