The individual in this role will oversee project management and design for audio-visual technology projects at the university. They will manage the audio-visual design team and assess new and innovative technologies for use in academic learning spaces. Type of Recruitment Knowledge, skills and abilities Considerable knowledge of the technical installation of digital audio visual systems. Considerable knowledge in the design, configuration, and support of media systems and technology equipment to include digitally, computer-based audio and video systems, with output from various sources. Working knowledge of interface of digital media equipment with computer technology. Working knowledge of desktop operating systems, networking concepts, and office applications. Working knowledge of control system programming. Working knowledge to troubleshoot complex audio, video, and control systems problems. Effective communications skills. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to understand customers’ needs effectively and communicate options for problem resolution to customers. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to interact with vendors and University community. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and set priorities. Demonstrated ability to independently apply technical judgment and skills to determine solutions. Special licenses, registration or certification None Education or training None Level and type of experience Considerable experience with systems design and planning. Considerable experience with control system design programming. Considerable experience in problem solving and decision analysis. Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification) Some experience in media/technology related field. Crestron Certified Programmer or has completed Crestron Core systems programming course. Info. Comm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Considerable knowledge, and/or equivalent combination of training and experience. Conditions of Employment This is a Norfolk campus-based position working a traditional 40-hour work week. This position is considered essential personnel and may be subject to working during university closings. This is an open until filled recruitment.
