The Position: Reporting directly to the President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as SUNY Oswego's chief academic officer, providing strategic leadership for academic planning, academic quality, and the Division of Academic Affairs. The Provost advances institutional priorities by strengthening undergraduate and graduate education, supporting faculty excellence and shared governance, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, enhancing growth of research and sponsored programs, promoting strategies that advance educational attainment and regional economic growth, and aligning academic strategy with student success, enrollment goals, and SUNY Oswego's impact and reputation. The Office of the Provost serves as SUNY Oswego's chief academic leadership unit, guiding the Division of Academic Affairs and overseeing the university's academic programs and core academic support functions that advance teaching, learning, research, and student success. The Provost provides leadership for the university's academic colleges, including the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Engineering; the College of Business and Entrepreneurship; the College of Education, Health, and Human Services; and the College of Communication, Media, and the Arts. The Office supports a vibrant academic community by promoting faculty excellence and student engagement through academic innovation, professional development, recognition and awards, and strategic initiatives that strengthen educational quality and outcomes. Requirements: Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experiences: Earned doctorate and a record of scholarly and teaching accomplishments appropriate for appointment as a tenured full professor. Substantial senior leadership experience in Academic Affairs, with progressively responsible roles. Demonstrated ability to articulate and execute academic strategy, align priorities with institutional goals, and lead continuous improvement. Proven effectiveness in faculty affairs and shared governance, including academic policy, faculty development, and collaborative decision-making. A strong record of advancing student success and educational excellence, including a commitment to equitable outcomes and a high-quality academic experience. Evidence of fiscal stewardship and operational leadership. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Leadership presence and communication skills to strengthen institutional reputation and serve as a trusted partner to campus stakeholders and external constituencies. Location: Located along the Oswego River on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario, the City of Oswego, New York, is a waterfront community home to approximately 18,000 residents. A port city in the midst of an exciting transformation, Oswego is building upon its strengths, embracing its rich history and natural assets, and developing and restoring healthy, vibrant neighborhoods in and around Oswego's revitalized downtown. Situated in Central New York, Oswego is a 40-minute drive from Syracuse, 80 minutes from Rochester, and 2.5 hours from both Buffalo and Albany. Salary: $210,000 - $265,000
