The Area Coordinators serve as an integral role in advancing the mission of the Office of Residence Life and Division of Student Formation. The Area Coordinator positions exists to aid in supervision and management of a area of campus with a number of Residence Director, and thus part time and/or student staff in their area. The Area Coordinator will report directly to the Associate Director or one of the Assistant Directors of Residence Life. Essential Area Coordinator Responsibilities:Responsible for one of the areas of campus (North, East, or West) and aid in a co-supervision model and management of the Residence Directors and those complexes in their area. Area Coordinators will facilitate one-on-one check-in meetings, staff development and accountability measures, trainings, and management of the community development for the complexes assigned in their area. Complete administrative processes that include: damage billing, opening and closing administrative prep, Room. Condition Report audits, community development tracking and budgeting of assigned area, heavy communication response, etc. Provide support and leadership for the execution of key residence life processes and initiatives assigned to them by the Assistant Dean and Director of Residence Life, the Associate Director and/or the Assistant Directors of Residence Life. This includes move in and out, hiring processes, and various committee work assignments. Manage the Community Accountability process for mid to higher level violations by residents in the Area Coordinators area including the completion of forms, reports, and letters in Maxient as well as holding conduct inquiries with students. Participate in an on-call duty rotation to address campus-based emergencies, providing immediate support to ensure safety in the community. Provide problem solving and service response to inquiries and concerns from Residence Life constituents including but not limited to residential students, parents and families, as well as prospective students. Other duties as assigned within the Residence Life department and Division of Student Formation. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in higher education or related field is preferred. Successful completion of a background check. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work. Required Education. Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree in higher education or related field is preferred Required Experience. Minimum 2-3 years professional experience in Residence Life and student housing. Experience supervising student staff and leading Residence Director(s) preferred Student Housing Software experience preferred.
