Attendance. Regular attendance is required. Education and/or Experience. Education. Required: High school diploma or GED - Preferred: Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in non-engineering science, math, or business. Note: Certain client projects or contractual requirements may require an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Experience 1–3 years of experience in utility power distribution engineering or related craft work. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations. None required. On-the-Job Training. Training includes job shadowing, classroom instruction, and interaction with experienced employees during the first year in the position. Language Skills. Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and operational documentation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and employees. Mathematical Skills. Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret spreadsheets. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts. Reasoning Ability. Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions. Ability to address problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
