Human Resources (HR) Director – Grand Forks, ND Horizon Health Corporation is seeking an Human Resources (HR) Director for our BRAND-NEW unit called Altru Behavioral Health Center in Grand Forks, ND. This unit will be a 24-bed inpatient unit for both adult and pediatric patients. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. Altru Health System and Universal Health Services are working together in expanding inpatient behavioral health services. The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of human resources operations for Altru. This includes strategic planning, talent acquisition, employee onboarding and off-boarding, orientation, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and organizational development. The role ensures that HR practices align with healthcare regulations and support a compassionate, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership. Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. Partner with executive leadership to support workforce planning and organizational development. Lead initiatives to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Talent Acquisition & Management. Recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding and orientation for clinical and non-clinical staff. Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs, succession planning and retention strategies. Manage performance evaluation systems and employee development programs. Employee Relations & Compliance. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations. Mediate employee disputes and manage disciplinary actions.
