The CPHSW Dietetics and Nutrition is currently seeking a Temporary Phlebotomist to join their team of professionals. Duties include:Participates in clinical research studies conducted by principal investigator(s) including, but not limited to, grant funded research and/or industry sponsored clinical trials conducted on site at Florida International University or its affiliated sites. Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures. Tests urine samples for toxicology and interpreting results for data entry for participants. Greet and verify patient identity, explain procedures clearly, and provide reassurance to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the collection process. Collects data from participants, participants charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources. Codes, evaluates and interprets collected data and prepares appropriate documentation. Accurately label and process blood samples, ensuring proper packaging and timely transport to the laboratory for analysis. Maintain accurate records of specimen collections, including patient details, date, and time; track specimens and daily collection totals in collaboration with the on-campus laboratory, and complete required data entry. Proper handling and disposal of Biohazardous Waste Material. Decontaminates high touch points and surface areas within the clinic and lab area of the clinic. Ensure the phlebotomy station is cleaned and sanitized between participants, to be compliant with Environment Health Services (EHS). Completes measurements and data entry on vital signs (blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse rate, temperature)Tracks and maintains inventory of nursing and phlebotomy supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and monitoring expiration dates. Abstracts medical data from medical records and enters records into the medical record abstraction database. Reviews Medical Records, identifies, and de-identifies all records. Performs other related tasks are required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. Minimum Qualifications. High School Diploma. Certified in Mammography and Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Licensed Certified Radiologic Technologist in the state of Florida. Experience with 3 D Mammography Equipment/ Breast Tomosynthesis Certified. Current BCLS certification. Desired Qualifications. High School Diploma. Completion of a phlebotomy training program. Ability to perform venipuncture safely. Familiarity with medical terminology. Basic computer/data entry skills. Strong interpersonal skills for patient/participant interaction. Job Category.
