Patient Safety Assocaite maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients. They do not provide any direct patient care. They have 2 roles.??1:1 observation: usually the assigned role, expected to be within arms reach and keep the patient in eye sight at all times, while redirecting them, preventing harmful behaviors, and noting changes in patient behaviors??Continuous rounder: assigned to multiple rooms and instructed to enter room, assess patient and environment, and then move on to the next room on a continuous basis. Shifts:Patient Safety Associates work 8-hour or 12-hour shifts. Shift times: day shift start: 0630 am-3 pm. Evening shift start: 2:30 pm-11 pm. Night shift start: 10:30 pm-7 am. Commitments:Per diem: 64 hours in a 6-week schedule period with 16 Saturday hours, 16 Sunday hours, 32 weekdays hours. The 64 hours must be the completed during the assigned shift time. All additional hours worked are flexible with shift times. Work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefited.??PT: 24 hours/week; work every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.??FT: 40 hours/week; work every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible. Education High School Diploma/ GED Experience - Preferred. Previous related experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required. Interpersonal Relationships - Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Patient Rights - Knowledge of principles and practices associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers. Health Information Documentation - Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form. Patient Safety - Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. Life Support - Knowledge of the process taken to restore and maintain essential physiological functions, and the ability to apply these processes in a patient care situation. Accuracy and Attention to Detail - Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to process information with high levels of accuracy. Additional Qualifications. CPR certification, completion of Patient/ Sitter Companion Program, and/or De-Escalation class preferred. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to de-escalate patients who are agitated in a way that preserves patient dignity required. Previous experience in the clinical setting preferred. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Standard Precautions. Work Shift. Workday Day (United States of America)Worker Sub Type. Regular.
