Apply now » Associate Mechanical Engineer Requisition ID: 1243 Location: Camden, NJ, US #job-location.job-location-inline { display: inline; } Job Family Function: Engineering Department: SMR Division: Small Modular Reactor Holtec International, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for the nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry, is seeking to add an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to its SMR-300 engineering team. The Mechanical Engineer will support the design and analysis of mechanical components for the SMR 300 Small Modular Reactor. This role is well-suited for new or recent graduates with strong engineering fundamentals, a hands-on mindset, and an interest in working on complex hardware from design through fabrication. Specific Areas of Responsibility: - Support the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, supports, and balance-of-plant equipment - Develop and maintain engineering design documents such as calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports - Support structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses using hand calculations and commercial tools - Coordinate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable - Support vendor engagement including review of vendor data and technical evaluations - Interface with cross-functional engineering groups to resolve design issues - Support licensing and regulatory documentation activities - Learn and apply nuclear quality assurance and design control requirements Minimum Qualifications: - BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university - 0–2 years of applicable engineering experience (internships or co-ops acceptable) - Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals - Experience with a CAD software (e.g. Solid. Works) - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines - Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810 Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced engineering degree - Internship or project experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or analysis - Experience with analysis tools (e.g. ANSYS) - Interest in nuclear or energy-related systems Salary Range: $80,000.00-$95,000.00
