Rockhurst University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. Our campus quad is accented with large oak trees, surrounded by rustic stone buildings. The Associate/ Assistant Athletic Director for Communications manages all media relations, communications, and statistical data for all Rockhurst University Athletics, and NCAA DII program. They promote athletes and staff, maintain records, manage the athletic website and social media, and coordinate game-day press operations. This position acts as the primary liaison between teams and the media. Rockhurst University sponsors 22 NCAA sports, and 2 non-NCAA sports and a pep band. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of website maintenance Effective writing and communication skills Attention to detail Able to maintain composure in fast paced environments Knowledge and experience with statistical packages for all the sports we sponsor. Previous work with uploading scores and stats to NCAA reporting site (or similar statistical/score reporting sites). Knowledge of statistical box scores, abbreviations, and stating language. Experience with social media platforms, including strategy, timing, and trends. Ability to work with coaches, staff, student-athletes, university marketing and external organizations, visiting institutions, such as sport organizations, GLVC, and the NCAA. Experience with live streaming and production. Knowledge of sport photography and editing software Adherence to professional standards, institutional guidelines, and GLVC and NCAA policies. Promote the mission of the Athletic Department and Rockhurst University Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred 3-5 years experience in a collegiate athletics communication setting, or similar athletic setting.
