Supervises and directs the work projects of Electrical Outside Foreman and all electrical work related personnel engaged in electrical projects. Manages the Foreman and Electricians Outside engaged in installing, altering or repairing conduits, manholes, light posts, and similar outdoor structures for electrical circuits. Reads and learns the Electrical Code of the bureau of Gas and Electricity of the City of Chicago, applying to outside electrical installations. Develops and maintains schedules for work assignments, vehicles, equipment, tools, supplies and materials. Reviews all work orders and prepares and distributes assignments to ensure work is addressed and completed in a timely and efficient manner. Reviews and justifies potential; purchases, obtains written proposals and reviews information with the Facility Manager. Ensures sufficient materials, supplies, equipment, tools and vehicles are available. Ensures that all work is in accordance with prescribed drawings, specifications, sketches or oral instructions. Studies blueprints and project specifications and inspects work sites to assess the project scope and size. Distributes work orders and determines the resources needed to complete the project. Prioritizes schedules and assigns work to Foreman and their crew based on the extent of the work required, the urgency and availability of resources. Reviews initial and final cost estimates prepared by the Foreman. Ensures that schedules are adhered to and work completed in accordance with specifications. Recommends alternative strategies to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Oversees the work and safety procedures. Administers corrective disciplinary action as needed. Reviews and approves time and attendance reports submitted by the Foreman. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Training and Experience: Eight years’ experience as a journeyman Electrician, four of which must be in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. License Requirement: Must possess a valid State of Illinois Driver's License.
