KPFF Seattle’s Civil Engineering team plays a key role in delivering the site and infrastructure systems that power some of the most demanding mission-critical facilities in the world. We support the development of large-scale data centers, industrial campuses, and research and development facilities providing civil engineering solutions that prioritize performance, reliability, constructability, and resiliency. Our work spans early site feasibility and master planning through detailed design, permitting, and construction support. We collaborate closely with owners, architects, mission-critical engineers, contractors, and other disciplines to develop sites and infrastructure capable of meeting the operational requirements of industrial and high-tech facilities. Located in downtown Seattle, our team is seeking a Civil Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join our growing data center and industrial practice. In this role, you will immediately engage in fast-paced, real-world projects across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex civil systems. Responsibilities: Lead and support civil design for data center and industrial campuses, including site planning, large-scale grading, utility design, and stormwater systems. Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3 D, Auto. Turn, and other engineering tools to produce detailed drawings, conduct vehicle and equipment access studies, and support site engineering analyses. Prepare and review technical reports, drainage studies, feasibility assessments, and design narratives that communicate engineering recommendations for mission-critical facilities. Assist with project coordination, helping manage schedules, budgets, and task assignments for multidisciplinary project teams. Support preparation of project proposals, scopes of work, and client deliverables. Collaborate with contractors, specialty consultants, and internal project teams to guide design implementation and resolve technical issues during construction. Build strong relationships with data center and industrial clients by understanding operational needs and delivering highly functional site solutions. Research and interpret jurisdictional codes, utility standards, and mission-critical requirements to inform design decisions. Support permitting efforts, including coordination with regulatory agencies, local jurisdictions, and utility providers. Conduct site visits to assess field conditions, monitor construction progress, verify compliance, and improve constructability outcomes. Contribute to the development of resilient, efficient, and sustainable site infrastructure for industrial and high-tech facilities. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to mission-critical and industrial development. Qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. 5 years of civil engineering experience under the supervision of a licensed PE. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3 D. Preferred Qualifications: Washington State PE license (Civil Engineering). Experience with data center, industrial, research and development, or large-site development projects. Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems and their components.
