Evaluates branch compliance with applicable federal, state, County, and related laws, rules, and regulations;Prepares and presents evidence-based educational programs and outreach services aligned with the department’s strategic directions and core values;Coordinates and participates in internal and external services such as accounting, payroll, IT, scheduling, personnel, outreach, and library programming;Supervises, schedules, and trains volunteers, and assumes temporary supervisory responsibility in the absence of senior staff;Utilizes conflict management skills to de-escalate and address unexpected problems or potentially volatile situations, completing associated documentation;Provides customer service to diverse members of the public including vulnerable individuals and non-English speakers;Assists professional staff with collection maintenance, material selection, and bibliographic research following professional standards;Participates in committee meetings and continuing education to incorporate current best practices in children’s, youth, or adult services;Assists in creating schedules, preparing reports, maintaining records, managing inventories, processing ILL requests, resolving invoice discrepancies, and handling money transactions;Coordinates unit activity with other departmental units, County departments, and outside agencies;Creates and maintains databases, compiles and analyzes data, and produces reports using automated information systems;Manages library social media accounts and communicates updates to the public. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate AND three years of customer service experience assisting the public.(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)OR:One year with Pima County in a Library Technical Assistant or closely related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
