RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 13th Superintendent, Dr. Sonia Llamas and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas. Requirements / Qualifications Under the direction of the Superintendent, oversee the operations of an assigned school according to the established philosophy, policies, goals and priorities of the Board of Education; improve the instructional program, oversee and participate in personnel management activities and functions, work with the community, manage the school, and oversee the overall operations and activities of the District. The principal will provide leadership in the development, implementation and facilitation of the strategic support structure necessary to ensure student achievement and facilitate accomplishment of board priorities, increased student learning, and improved state indicator metrics. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Instructional Leadership & Student Success: Develop and implement an instructional program according to the District- adopted Courses of study and curriculums that meet the needs of students with consideration given to various races, creeds and socio-economic backgrounds. Utilizing data and state indicators to monitor the effectiveness of teaching and student learning outcomes. Regularly assessing the instructional program using both district standards and self-evaluation methods. Developing and maintaining a school-wide positive behavior program to support student needs.
