The RN is responsible for implementing and evaluating patient care on the Adult/ Adolescent/ Geriatric units; for providing supervision and guidance for nursing staff members; for assuming responsibilities delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, or House Supervisor; for personal and professional growth and development. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties. Completes patient admissions process, including nursing assessment. Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by hospital and regulatory agency standards. Medication management – administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician. Participates as member of interdisciplinary treatment team. Ensures nursing interventions. Provides milieu management and unit team leadership. Provides appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations. Reports unsafe conditions. Provides age-specific communication, limit setting and interventions. Provides health education to patients and their families. Prepares and adheres to facility patient discharge process.
