Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Big Ten Fellow for Intercollegiate Athletics. This position allows for the incumbent to be exposed to a wide variety of internal and external athletic functions, while building skills and a portfolio in all areas to support their continuation of a career in college athletics. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Supports the basic daily needs and functions for the Scarlet Knights For Life program. Assists with maintaining accurate and current records of letterwinners and student-athletes in tracking databases to help with outreach, event planning, and engagement activities. Helps student-athletes use the Teamworks engagement platform by providing basic guidance and support; assist with posting and promoting events through the system. Enters and updates information in tracking systems to make sure all programs and opportunities are included; help create simple reports to show participation and engagement data. Provides general support for database updates and maintenance; assist in developing and sharing student-athlete profiles to help highlight their achievements and increase their visibility. Helps with the planning and setup of events, programs, and workshops, including tasks like preparing materials, coordinating onsite logistics, and assisting with post-event surveys and feedback. Provides support for diversity and inclusion efforts, especially through SAAC activities, and assist with related initiatives as part of the Rutgers Athletics Inclusive Community Council. Assists in organizing student-athlete groups based on shared career interests by helping with communication, scheduling, and connecting participants to relevant programs, study sessions, and peer resources. Assists with various projects and events by helping with outreach to letterwinners through email, phone, and in-person interactions at events, and by supporting coordination with community partners for service-related programs. Helps gather and summarize information on generational learning preferences, workshop styles, and communication habits to support the team in designing student-athlete programming. Supports the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) by attending meetings, preparing basic meeting materials, and helping with follow-up tasks both in person and online. FLSA Nonexempt Salary Details 35,000 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure.
