Indianapolis

Saturday, 11 April 2026

A postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiang Gao. The postdoctoral fellow will test research hypotheses in rodent traumatic brain injury models and cell cultures, primarily utilizing molecular, cell biology, and behavioral techniques. The laboratory of Dr. Gao focuses investigations on the mechanisms of traumatic brain injury (TBI). His research is threefold: to find an e. Hective way to mitigate, or even prevent, cell death and dendritic/synaptic degeneration post TBI; to explore potential therapeutic interventions for repairing damaged neural circuitries; and to study the molecular mechanisms underlie immune response and neuroinflammation post-trauma. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to independently plan and conduct experiments under the guidance of the Pl, using molecular and cellular biology techniques that include, but are not limited to, cell culture, western blotting, PCR, gene knockdown and overexpression, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.
