Pharmacy Technician I/II/III/IV - Outpatient Pharmacy

Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician I/ II/ III/ IV supports the outpatient pharmacist with the preparation and delivery of medications to ambulatory patients or outpatient clinics. The Pharmacy Technician I/ II/ III/ IV will work as a team member to efficiently, and accurately perform day-to-day work along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Level I:Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. Level II:Two (2) years of pharmacy technician work experience. Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (C - Ph. T) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)Level III:Three (3) years of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail setting. Pharmacy Technician License through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, or eligible for AR licensure. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (C - Ph. T) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)Level IV:Four (4) years of pharmacy technician experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. ASHP/ ACPE-accredited technician training or certificate program. Pharmacy Technician License through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure. According to the UAMS Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder, a Pharmacy Technician II/ III/ IV may be assigned one of these specialized roles: automation, controlled substances, pharmacy buyer, investigational drugs, medication reconciliation, compounding specialist or WAM (retail) order entry, and may also support operations of the vaccine clinics.
