This is a hands-on supervisory role with assigned shifts. The position requires availability for shifts in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays, and flexibility to meet operational needs as necessary. Supervisor Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing:Supervisors have mastery-level knowledge of all Emergency Communications Operator duties and serve in that capacity, as well as functioning as Communications Training Officers for trainees when necessary. Exercise direct and indirect supervision of Emergency Communications Operators. Provide administrative support to the Communications Manager by collaborating on schedules, policies, procedures, training, goals and objectives of the Communications Center. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population to include the public, staff, other criminal justice agency personnel, county government staff and volunteers. Learn applicable Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures pertaining to the dispatch of law enforcement, fire and medical for the county and user agencies. Two (2) years of increasingly responsible duties in a communications center required; experience working for a law enforcement agency preferred. High School diploma or GED required.
