To provide communications by way of a computerized telephone network including various automated systems for Saint Anthony Hospital and its affiliates. To communicate and safeguard pertinent confidential information in a professional manner. To implement procedures designed for immediate responses to alarms, disasters and emergency situations. Responsibilities 1. Facilitate telephone communications, including managing all telephone calls in a professional customer service style, and answering all calls by the third ring. Using other integrated PC-based systems. 2. Maintains daily logs/records assigned by the Manager for on-call schedules, emergencies, and pagers as well as reporting all telecom system discrepancies to the department manager. 3. Monitors alarms and implements the proper functions designed for emergency responses in a prompt manner as described in department policies and procedures. 4. Schedule hospital department appointments. 5. Perform and support screen maintenance for Administrative and Medical Staff, information on an online system. 6. Aid in training new employees and cross-train existing staff members in relation to communicating correct proper information to support the online database. 7. Perform alternate pager transactions as needed. Maintains and provides system administration as authorized for the automated systems and related database. During downtime, be able to aid in other departmental projects and maintenance as needed. Marginal Functions: ➢ Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as named by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently shows the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others. ➢ Assumes responsibility for knowing and keeping established hospital and departmental goals, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards. ➢ Participate in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution choice, implementation and evaluation. Also, aids in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate. ➢ Participate in staff meetings and other services, meetings or committees as needed. ➢ Keeps current with Saint Anthony Hospital activities by reading memos and incorporating information into daily work practice and endorsement of the shifts that follow. Work Experience: One to three years of experience. Position Qualifications: Ability to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word/ Excel). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle high volumes of incoming calls. Professional and courteous telephone etiquette. Previous experience as an operator preferred. Ability to type 30 wpm preferred. Able to switch between multiple priorities effectively (multitasking). Previous Hospital Call Center experience preferred. Work with others collaboratively, cooperatively and in the spirit of teamwork.
