The Town of Prosper is currently accepting applications for:NON-SWORN - POLICE OFFICER Recruit Salary: $75,000 Officer Salary Range: $80,000 - $87,872.00 Lateral Entry available depending on qualifications up to step 4. Step 1: $80,000.00 Step 2: $82,400.00 Step 3: $84,872.00 Step 4: $87,418.16 Step 5: $90,040.70 Step 6: $92,741.93 Step 7: $95,524.18 Annual Step Increases. Night Shift Differential Pay. Training & Continuing Education Opportunities. Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED with 12 college credit hours for the GED. Must be a Unites States citizen. Applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age to apply and must be 21 years of age upon graduating from the Police Academy. Applicants with military experience require discharge be under honorable conditions. No felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions; no Class B misdemeanor convictions within the past 10 years. Must be able to pass the police academy and state licensing test(s). Must meet and maintain all regulatory requirements for Texas Police Officer License. Must obtain and maintain all required departmental and TCOLE certifications. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, psychological test, physical assessment, criminal background check and post-offer physical exam. Must possess State of Texas Drivers License at the time of employment. Acting under the general supervision of a police sergeant. This position performs law enforcement and crime prevention work; to control traffic flow and enforce State and local traffic regulations; to perform investigative work and other special assignments; and to perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the Department. This is a non-sworn position.
