Area Asset Protection Manager. The Area Asset Protection Manager’s purpose is to celebrate and serve America’s diverse working families by executing the store’s Asset Protection strategy within the assigned store(s); including leading and engaging the team, training and developing, executing Asset Protection programs to create a safe and secure workplace, reducing shrink, and delivering profitable sales growth. Talent - Fosters a professional and cohesive team culture embodying the associate value proposition through active engagement in positive associate relations, recognition, and promoting inclusion and diversity. - Supports the Talent Life Cycle by hiring, training, developing and engaging associates. - Interviews, hires, trains, coaches and develops to ensure compliance and understanding of Asset Protection Strategy, Directives, policies and procedures. - Consistently utilizes performance management tools to drive and recognize job performance and behaviors. - Identifies needs promptly and collaborates with key partners to swiftly address associate concerns. Shrink - Proactively identifies potential acts of theft and fraud by observing associate/customer activity, exception reports and referrals. - Investigates suspicious behavior (collects intelligence, documents behavior, etc.). - Periodically audits departments for merchandise protection standard adherence and identifies merchandise protection opportunities that deviate from company standards. - Conducts AP and Operational audits. - Analyzes intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft. - Deploys resources to conduct in-store surveillance and executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft and properly documents all stages. Travels to stores as necessary. - Communicates external theft trends to associates and will partner with other locations/retailers to identify Organized Retail Crime (ORC) groups and patterns. - Partners with DAPM and/or Central/ Field Investigations, Home Office to gather evidence on ORC and external fraud. - Administers AP programs and supports Company standards with inventory maintenance process. - Reviews the reports of external apprehensions, internal investigations, incident reports, PCI, PII and sales audit documentation. - Develops and maintains relationships with local law enforcement, mall management/security, and retail/community partners. - Prepares for and attends court hearings as required and updates appropriate files with related outcomes. - Tailors Company AP direction for assigned store(s) and creates effective ways to educate and motivate store teams to focus on shrink reduction and safety. Safe and Secure - Supports a safety culture through impressions of control, coaching, and recognition. - Analyzes and reviews incident trends to advise store leadership of action steps that can be used to prevent incidents. - Participates in Company AP and Safety programs and enforce standards as they relate to safety and security. - Coaches associates on keeping work areas and sales floor free of hazards to reduce risk of accidents. - Supports stores in cases of critical incidents, business disruptions, natural disasters, etc. Performance Standards - Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including but not limited to shrink, cash loss, safety, productivity/metrics, budget and expense control, sales & service culture to ensure profit improvement. Requirements - Reliable Transportation: ability to travel to designated stores as assigned. - 3 years Asset Protection or related experience (retail management, law enforcement, military) preferably in retail environment, or equiv. education and work experience. - 1 years leadership experience. - Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred. - High School diploma or equivalent work experience, AA/ BA/ BS in Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred. - Must be age 18
