Join the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) as a Communications Specialist I for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Iowa State program. This role supports daily office operations, manages inquiries, maintains office spaces, proofreads materials, assists with facilitating OLLI at Iowa State classes, maintains website and social media communications, and potentially help support CELT events. You'll also provide administrative support to leadership, coordinate committee meetings, and organize data to support strategic initiatives. Ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills and a working knowledge of Adobe In. Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Example of Duties. Reviews and/or edits website content using an approved template ensuring accurate and timely information. Serves as liaison with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) director and CELT web and graphic designer to execute on tasks for OLLI promotion. Ensure digital and print materials meet ADA standards and regulations. Assists with updating information into approved templates for course registration, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, and other print and digital materials. Ensure consistency across all print and electronic platforms; ensure graphics and other design elements comply with CELT and ISU style guide and communication goals. Obtains printing and project estimates, manages production with vendors, and maintains master schedule of materials in production. Attends selected OLLI courses and events in person and virtually, providing hospitality, troubleshooting support, and any necessary follow up to the course facilitator and participants. Meets with OLLI members and course facilitators as needed. Provides support as needed to OLLI director. Level Guidelines - Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision - Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode - Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope - Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained - Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher-level workers as appropriate - May lead projects of limited scope and complexity.
