Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Outdoor Recreation Specialist for the Recreation department. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists with special events and programming, leads day and multi-day trips, instructs outdoor skills classes, and assists in the offsite training of the student trip leaders and facilitators. Handles the scheduling of student staff, staff supervision, student trip leader development, staff evaluation, and community outreach. Coordinates training and scheduling of Rockwall student staff along with organizing community programs and student staff training compliance. FLSA Nonexempt Salary Details $20 - $25/hourly Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the Flex. Work@RU Application System. At least two (2) years of relevant experience in outdoor or comparable field. Certifications/ Licenses CPR/ AED certification. A valid driver’s license would be required for this position. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Wilderness First Responder and CPR/ AED certification. Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as part of normal job duties. Special Conditions Safe Driving Record.
