This position is part of our Air National Guard division and is located on Buckley Air Force Base. This position will start at the mid-level until all military air base certifications are obtained that will allow progression to the fully operational level to include a slight pay increase at that time. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:ensuring standards and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard directives, and local directives and regulations;assuming responsibility for air traffic control services during scheduled shift;performing separation, control, and sequencing of aircraft within the Class DELTA and ECHO airspace;continuously assessing the operating condition and status of tower equipment, logging and tracking all maintenance, utilizing back-up and alternate equipment during primary equipment outages, and approve equipment operability prior to bringing equipment back in service;utilizing the tower radar display to aid in visually locating aircraft or determining their special relationship to known geographical points, providing traffic advisories, assisting with landing sequence, and providing surveillance of Class DELTA airspace;planning and directing tasks performed by subordinates during shift;providing emergency assistance to aircraft in distress;activating the primary crash phone for local emergencies and relaying aircraft emergency information to emergency response teams; andmonitoring, relaying, and recording on Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) weather observations, forecasts, and advisories in accordance with the National Weather Service and facility directives.
