Under general supervision, maintains, repairs, and installs all types of door hardware on County property. Job Duties:Picks, drills, repairs, replaces, and/or installs all types of door hardware in a neat, orderly, and timely manner. Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and install all door security devices. Must demonstrate usual and customary care of tools and equipment and maintain safe working conditions. Prepares and provides timely and accurate records. May be required to drive personal or county vehicles to various work sites. Will be required to be on-call after hours on a rotational basis. Performs other duties as assigned. Operate the key engraving machine, HPC, and duplicate key machines, BEST keypunches. Pin A 2, A 3, and CORMAX cores. Ensure compliance with all applicable NFPA, ADA, and IBC codes. Check keys in and out using the key management database. Process key requests, cut new keys, and enter data. Requirements
Education:High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Experience:Five (5) years of experience/general knowledge in commercial and/or residential lock work Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):Must maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License. Must maintain courteous, helpful behavior at all times. Must communicate diplomatically on a routine basis with elected and appointed officials, contractors, vendors, and tenants. Must have a good command of the English language and good knowledge of filing, spelling, and math. Must understand and operate all key-related machinery, including all key duplicator and/or code-cutting machines and all locking installing equipment. Must be computer literate. Must understand and follow blueprints and oral and written instructions with a basic understanding of electronics and /or electrical door controls. A general working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of security systems, fire systems, and access control systems is preferred. Must pass security checks and drug tests, as required. General Information
Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week. Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload. Salary: Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods. Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event). This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
