As a software development manager on our team, youll help to establish teams developing new systems from scratch, working closely with senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS. Youll coordinate feature development across teams, ensuring new functionality fits into the broader slate of AWS services. You'll drive a culture that values operational excellence, security, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Key job responsibilities- Drive technical strategy, design, development, deployment, and operations for new and existing AWS services working alongside Amazon Connect.- Lead and mentor multiple software engineers.- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to define product vision, roadmap, and create impactful solutions.- Build and grow high-performing teams.- Drive architectural decisions for large-scale, highly available cloud services.- Ensure operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.- Manage multiple concurrent programs and projects in an intrapreneurial environment.- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and technical excellence.- Solve complex challenges that healthcare organizations face today through innovative use of cloud and AI technologies. Basic Qualifications- 3 years of engineering team management experience- 7 years of engineering experience- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- 5 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience- Experience partnering with product or program management teams. Preferred Qualifications- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
