POSITION: Data Intern PAY RATE: $19.29/hr CARDINAL GROUP: Cardinal Group Companies (CGC) is a premier real estate investment, development, construction, marketing, and management company specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of multifamily and student housing properties throughout the United States. The AI Intern will participate in Cardinal's Summer Internship Cohort. The cohort will meet weekly for 1-2 hours to participate in department presentations, culture-building events, and cross-training opportunities. This internship provides interns the opportunity to engage and collaborate within a unique learning environment and includes 20 hours of mentorship by company leaders. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DATES: June 2, 2026 - July 31, 2026 AI Solutions Intern JD As an AI Solutions Intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to transforming manual processes into automated, intelligent solutions. You will spend your summer researching, prototyping, and testing AI-driven tools that help our company operate more efficiently. This role is designed for a technical student who is passionate about AI/ ML and wants to move beyond basic chat interfaces to build functional, multi-step AI agents that help us work smarter. Primary Responsibilities Conduct hands-on R&D using the Google Cloud Platform to explore new and emerging use cases for generative AI. Build and iterate on proof of concept solutions designed to automate high-volume, repetitive tasks. You will help validate the feasibility of new AI tools before they are moved into production. Contribute to our collaboration with various internal departments to map out existing manual workflows and identify specific areas where AI-driven automation can save time and reduce errors Support internal governance initiatives by testing models for accuracy, monitoring for hallucinations, and helping document the safety protocols that ensure AI outputs are reliable and secure Assist in the configuration and testing of automated workflows, ensuring that AI agents can interact with internal systems effectively to deliver high-quality results Create clear, accessible documentation and training resources (such as FAQs or video guides) to help team members understand how to use and provide feedback on new AI tools. Qualifications & Skills Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence,Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Foundational experience with Python Strong prompt engineering skills Exposure to LLM APIs is desirable Familiarity with Cloud environments is desirable The ability to break down a complex human process into a series of logical, repeatable steps that a machine can execute. A proactive attitude toward learning. You enjoy the trial and error process of building new technology and are comfortable iterating based on feedback. Ability to translate technical concepts into simple, clear language for non-technical team members.
