Prepare patients and charts for provider visits. Assist providers with OBGYN exams, procedures, and treatments within scope. Administer medications and immunizations as ordered. Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and in-office lab testing. Track and report lab results; complete required quality control documentation. Accurately document care and code visits, labs, and procedures in the EMR - Support referrals, scheduling, registration, and check-out as needed. Reinforce patient education and self-care instructions using clear language. Collaborate with providers and team members to improve workflows and patient experience. Maintain required competencies, certifications, and ongoing education. A patient-focused CMA passionate about women’s health. Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills. Alignment with Novant Health’s mission, values, and People Credo What We're Looking For. Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: - CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) - RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) - American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/ Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
