Responsible for all aspects of preflight planning, including route analysis, route building, hazardous weather avoidance, field conditions, fuel planning, alternate selection, and performance planning. Responsible for issuing a dispatch or flight release for all assigned Company flights. Responsible for flight delay and cancelation. Responsible for flight following, including monitoring the progress of each flight, issuing information necessary to the safety of flight (changes related to weather, NOTAMs, air traffic), and canceling or re-dispatching when, in the opinion of the dispatcher or Pilot-in-Command, the flight is unable to operate or continue to operate safely. Must remain continually aware of the airworthiness and readiness status of all assigned aircraft. Must maintain situational awareness of weather, NOTAMs, instrument approach procedures, air traffic initiatives, and the current state of the national airspace system. Must be highly knowledgeable of FA - Rs, NTSB, Hazardous Materials, and Company manuals. Complete any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Requirements. Must possess an Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate by July 6, 2026 Must be 23 years of age or older by July 6, 2026. Must possess a current passport or be willing to apply for a passport at own expense. Able to work under pressure. Ability to demonstrate safety for self and others. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, shift work. Successfully pass a FAA background check and a mandated pre-employment drug test. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Must be willing to relocate to SkyWest Corporate Office in St. George, Utah
