Summer Workshop Student Technician/ Supervisor

Student workers will assist with workshops taking place in studio A and other VPA - Cfacilities. They may be asked to step up as a performer or engineer or to speak to studentsfrom their own experiences as a music production student. They will assist in supervisingstudents during the day and take on the role of primary supervisor after dinner andovernight in the dorms. Required Qualifications Must be Music Production major. Must be free for entire duration of the workshop schedule. Must be proficient in Pro Tools and engineering/ producing in Studio A Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI fingerprints) Preferred Qualifications Job Duties Audio Recording, Editing, and Mixing: Operate recording equipment during sessions. Equipment Setup: Set up and break down audio equipment for recording sessions. Student Support: Provide guidance and assistance to students and faculty on the use ofrecording studio equipment and software. Train users on best practices for sound engineering and studio operation. Student Supervision: Keep track of students and foster a safe and welcoming learningenvironment. This will extend to light planning and running of casual activities after dinnerand before lights out. Project Management: Collaborate with students and faculty to schedule and coordinaterecording projects. Ensure timely completion of audio projects and maintain organizedrecords. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all equipment and procedures comply with universitysafety regulations and best practices in audio engineering. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Be able to lift equipment up to 30 lbs.
