Where You Will Work Tyrone is an open-pit copper mining complex located in Grant County, New Mexico – just 10 miles south of the historic mining community of Silver City. The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. What You Will Do Under close supervision, assists in providing technical support and advice in Metallurgical testing and analysis at assigned site. Assists in Metallurgical studies and conducting analyses Prepares standard reports on Metallurgical or process issues and assists in recommending appropriate action to resolve or correct issues Assists in reviewing new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocols Assists in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment Performs other duties as required What You Bring To Freeport Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry or related Engineering discipline Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in Metallurgical and processing analyses Able to conduct research and analyze information or considerable difficulty to draw valid conclusions Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Preferred Qualifications Experience with flotation testing, mass balancing, and data analysis Experience with design of experiments Familiar with Advanced Process Control systems What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $80,000-$110,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
