Yard Spotter, you'll work at Distribution Center Services (DCS) moving yard mules and trailers within H-E-B Retail Support Centers. Upon hire, you'll complete mule and/or tractor training as required. Please note this position is not the Delivery Driver Trainee program used to train full time Drivers. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: - Spots trailers at dock doors throughout the Retail Support Center - Transports merchandise throughout the Retail Support Center The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: of experience driving (with a valid driver¿s license) (mandatory) - of driving experience - Documented proof of a good driving record - applicants chosen to be interviewed must obtain a Life History MVR from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) (required)¿see below for instructions. - NOTE: Police reports will be requested on an applicant whose MVR record reflects an accident - -year clear MVR - including moving violations - tickets - (chargeable) accidents - including personal vehicle - record will be reviewed for preventability - based on H-E-B standards - No suspended - revoked driver licenses - permits - privileges in any state / county (mandatory) - No DWI/ DUI - felony convictions ever in lifetime - Successful passing of Dept of Transportation (DOT) physical - DOT drug screen - background check - and verification of work history (required prior to job offer) - Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Knowledge of the English language (mandatory¿according to Regulation 398.3 (c)(4), ¿Every driver shall be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals and directions given in English and to respond to official inquiries¿) - Familiarity with Section 2 of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook - Advanced customer service and interpersonal skills - Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays - Ability to work with little or no supervision - Ability to successfully complete all phases of the of the Spotter Trainee Program - Education: or equivalent ( - Licenses/ Certifications: Ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver¿s License upon hire - Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen - and meet all DOT driver qualifications - Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Handle multiple, concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment Work primarily weekends, including nights and holidays Maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
