Corrections Specialist 2 (CS 2) - Reentry CBI Unit. Permanent. Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) and Olympic Corrections Center (OCC)Clallam Bay, WA & Forks, WACS 2 Salary Range: $5,892 - $7,930 The Washington State Department of Corrections is hiring a Corrections Specialist 2 (CS 2) within the Reentry Division - CBI Unit. This position performs work at both Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) in Clallam Bay, WA and Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, WA. This position facilitates afternoon and evening classes at OCC twice a week, with evening class times typically scheduled from 6:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. The assigned work schedule generally includes Mondays and Wednesdays at OCC, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at CBCC. Work schedules are flexible and may be structured as either 5/8 s or 4/10 s, based on facility needs and supervisor approval. Schedule may be adjusted based operational needs and participant availability. The Reentry Division is responsible for the implementation of evidenced-based practices and the operational support to facilitate incarcerated individuals' participation in and/or to provide evidence-based and research-based interventions and promising practices/programs designed to decrease recidivism, while increasing the safety of staff, participants, incarcerated individuals and the public. The Department of Corrections, in collaboration with its criminal justice partners, will contribute to staff and community safety and hold incarcerated individuals accountable by conducting appropriate screenings, assessments and evaluations to assess the risk and needs of the population and by providing services to address the risks and needs across the continuum in the least restrictive setting needed to ensure protection of staff, participant, incarcerated individuals and the public. Participants will be held accountable through the classification system and the administration of sanctions and reinforcers to effect change. The Corrections Specialist 2 (CS 2) contributes to the Department's mission and vision by providing expertise and technical assistance to ensure delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Interventions in alignment with evidence-based practices; address participants risks, needs and behaviors; and support participant success in both prison and community-based programming as well as reentry. The Corrections Specialist 2 will facilitate evidence-based programs, which target criminogenic needs, to higher risk incarcerated individuals. These programs provide participants with opportunities to engage in cognitive self-change in order to develop skills needed to enhance social abilities and improve problem solving. With participant development of these skills, participants may think in ways that change their actions which lead to safer communities and safer correctional operations. This Corrections Specialist 2 will work collaboratively with other DOC programs and contract providers. Quality assurance involves the ongoing and accurate monitoring and tracking of reliable measures of program and intervention implementation.
