This position is responsible for completing scheduling assignments for all nursing staff. Responsible for completing, distributing and updating daily worksheets for all units. Scheduler has a supportive role in providing adequate numbers of licensed Registered Nurses (RN's), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's), and Mental Health Technicians (MHT's) to provide nursing care to all Wyoming State Hospital (WSH) patients. Scheduling of nursing personnel. Work closely with the nursing department to ensure adequate nursing coverage is provided for all units to meet standards of care and patient care needs. Responsible for completing a 28-day schedule for CNA/ MHT staff. Complete, distribute, and update daily worksheets for all units. Complete reports as assigned. Review/approve/deny nursing vacation requests. Enter data into the scheduling system and ensure its accuracy. Must be dependable. Maintains department records system, including filing, scanning, retrieving, archiving Nursing documents, researching files, etc. Makes calls and answers telephones and may route calls to appropriate staff. The specialized nature of the job may require training/guiding others in an agency-specific process. Reviews and verifies data. Explains procedures.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of office procedures, filing, alphabetizing, English language and arithmetic. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email programs. Knowledge of assembling, sorting and distributing documents. Knowledge of reviewing and editing documents for accuracy and completeness. Knowledge of methods used to tactfully deal with the public. Knowledge of telephone etiquette and coordinating telephone and visitor traffic. Knowledge of preparation of records, reports, and correspondence. Knowledge of agency policies and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience:0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications)OR - Education & Experience Substitution:1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications)Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work. NOTES: FLSA: Non-Exempt. A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F. B. I. for every successful applicant. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed in any position if reasonable suspicion exists. A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
