The City of Lancaster is pleased to offer the 2026 Summer Program for summer work experience to eligible high school and college students. Students who are City residents are encouraged to apply for the positions listed below. Summer jobs are located throughout the City limits, concentrated in the Public Works department. Most of it is outdoors. Important Information to consider when applying:Candidates must be able to work the entire summer scheduleSports camps and band camps cannot be accommodated. Position Title. Utilities Assistant (2 positions available)Water and Wastewater Treatment Plans 6:00 am-2:30 pm (June 8 – August 14, 2026) Weed whacking, hand weeding, mowing, laboring, painting, cleaning Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Typical Qualifications
16 years of age or over (with working permit if necessary)The City is especially interested in qualified City residents.
