Performs a variety of functions related to the operations of a golf course, including starter/ranger duties, routine maintenance, and enforcement of golf course rules. This position works under the guidance and direction of the immediate supervisor.
Essential Job Duties
Provides outstanding service to each customer. Welcomes patrons to the golf course. Informs guests of course and cart path rules; gives directions to points of interest around the facility. Collects receipts from each customer to verify check-in; properly records tee times and cart numbers. Maintains constant communication with the Pro Shop Attendant(s) to keep all staff informed of the pace of play and issues of the day. Responds to all customer concerns, questions, and complaints in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner at all times; reports these comments to a supervisor. Keeps the grounds tidy of litter and debris in all areas assigned. Assists with the execution of tournament needs such as: Driving Range Set Up, On-Course Game Set-Up, Shuttling of Players, Directing Traffic. Assists in course maintenance by fixing divots and ball marks. Monitors the needs of the driving range and tidy’s baskets and hitting stations. Monitors pace of play and directs slow groups. Speaks to patrons on the course and assists them in any way possible. Follows and implements all procedures and policies as described in the Sandridge Golf Club Employee Manual
Typical Requirements
Education and Experience:Elementary school graduation and several years of working experience, or an equivalent combination of formal education and working experience. Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:Knowledge of and ability to tactfully enforce golf course rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of current and future golfing events in order to promote such events. Ability to read fee payment receipts and starting timesheets. Ability to complete and maintain daily reports and logs. Ability to make judgmental decisions on players' abilities and playing speed. Ability to operate golf carts. Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on carts. Ability to perform routine servicing on carts such as filling gas tanks, checking for damage, washing, and waxing. Ability to lift golf clubs into and out of carts and lift, carry and move water coolers. Ability to remove and replace range tee markers and bag stands, chip range balls from rough areas, and clean range tee area. Ability to operate range tractor and ball picker. Communications skills sufficient to interact knowledgeably with golfers. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
