Duties include: traffic control, installation and repair of traffic control devices. Current Colorado Flagger certificate preferred and valid Driver's License required. Maintains and operates light equipment used in the operation of County road maintenance and construction projects. Performs road maintenance on roads as necessary. Seasonal May Through November.

Operates light equipment to include power broom, and other related equipment. Checks and reports on damage of County roads and road signs. Assists with road striping, drives pilot car, cleans and refills striper as needed. Performs road sign maintenance and installation. Replaces signs; makes signs, cuts posts and attaches signs; installs signs. Provides information to motoring and non-motoring public regarding detours and general road construction. Performs other related duties as assigned. Provides clear and understandable driver guidance to motoring public including operation of pilot vehicle. Checks and reports on damage of County roads and road signs. Assists with road striping, drives pilot car. Regular and predictable attendance is required. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED: Truck Two Way Radio Hand Tools Power Broom
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:High School diploma or GED; or,Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job;Licenses and Certifications:Valid Driver's License. Colorado Department of Transportation or ATSSA Flagger Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:Traffic safety/construction work zones. All applicable safety rules and regulations for operation of light construction equipment. Safe use of a variety of hand tools used in the construction/maintenance of roads and road signs. Skill in:Communicating clearly and effectively, orally and in writing. Operation, maintenance, and performance of routine repairs of assigned equipment. Mental and Physical Abilities:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and so forth. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to safely operate all assigned equipment. While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
