As part of the Software Engineering Innovation Center, you will develop your software architecture and engineering skills while delivering computing capabilities to address the challenges of our sponsors. While responding to these challenges, you will leverage and grow your hands-on skills with software design and development, engaging in the full software engineering lifecycle using modern technologies. You will gain experience with one or more of the following: Cloud Engineering Dev. Sec. Ops Full-Stack Development Embedded Systems and Internet of Things Practical Applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Familiarity with user-centered design principles as applied throughout the software development cycle. Develops wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas. Mission-based software engineering and deployment. Basic Qualifications:Requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Hands-on skills in at least one and ideally multiple modern programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript/ Type. Script, C/ C , C#, Python, Go, or Rust). Familiarity with Dev. Sec. Ops principles and practices (desirable also includes exposure to Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure-as-Code, Automation for Security and Testing, etc.). Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn and apply new technologies. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. High level desire to help our nation solve its most critical challenges. Exposure to software development tools and frameworks, including source control management tools (e.g., Git). Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, D 3, and modern JavaScript Frameworks such as Angular, Vue, React, and/or similar libraries. Proficiency in utilizing wireframe design software. Requires a minimum of 50% hybrid onsite. Preferred Qualifications: Preference given to candidates who have completed an advanced degree in a technical discipline (including but not limited to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance. Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies. Familiarity with Cloud Services Providers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.). Knowledge of software design patterns. Knowledge of database technologies, including relational or NoSQL. Knowledge of Generative Pretrained and Large Language Models and use in the Software Development Lifecycle. Knowledge of user-centric engineering tools and techniques and a passion for developing user-centric systems that contribute to mission success. Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit and the curiosity to explore and push the boundaries of software development and software solutions. Salary compensation range and midpoint:$79,200 - $99,000 - $118,800 Annual. Work Location Type:Hybrid.
