Posting Details Position Information Job Title Atlantic World History Guest Faculty Position for 2026-2027 Classification Title Rank Guest Faculty Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Job Description The Global Studies group at Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a yearlong half-time guest teaching position in Black Atlantic history to begin Fall 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the college’s offerings of courses in nineteenth-century and twentieth African and African American history. All applicants should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship, including study abroad. We invite candidates to familiarize themselves with Sarah Lawrence’s distinctive pedagogical model, which often includes one-on-one tutorials as part of most seminars. Application materials should include: a cover letter, CV, a sample of scholarly work (15-25 pages), two syllabi, and three references who will be contacted for letters of recommendation upon the submission of the candidate’s application. This is an in-person teaching appointment, with the expectation that the appointed individual will teach on campus for the duration of the contract period.
