The Chemistry Department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Stamford, invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor in Residence level. UConn Stamford is an urban campus at the center of one of Fairfield County’s robust business communities, just 45 minutes from New York City, which gives students ample opportunities for internships and careers. The campus serves 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including many first-generation college students. It offers 14 undergraduate majors, including business administration, digital media and design, computer science and history. Founded in 1881, UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and is a member of the Space Grant Consortium. It is the state’s flagship institution of higher education and includes a main campus in Storrs, CT, four regional campuses throughout the state, and 13 Schools and Colleges, including a Law School in Hartford, and Medical and Dental Schools at the UConn Health campus in Farmington. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will teach introductory and organic chemistry lectures and laboratory classes, working collaboratively with the other full-time faculty members. This position requires an individual with a dynamic personality who can interact with undergraduate students in addition to faculty across the regional and main campus at UConn, and who has a track record of excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PhD. in Chemistry or a closely related field. Demonstrated excellence and experience in teaching both lecture and laboratory courses in organic and general chemistry. Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student body. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience teaching non-science major chemistry lecture courses. APPOINTMENT TERMS This position is a full-time, nine (9)-month appointment, with a start date of August 23, 2026. The position may be annually renewable based on performance, budget and needs of the department and college. Salary is competitive based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate’s primary academic appointment will be at the Stamford Campus.
