The Division of Information Technology/ Computing and Communications is accepting applications for its IT Technician position.
Examples of Duties
Perform hands-on fixes, including installing/upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems. Perform hands-on fixes (via remote access), including installing/upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems. Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of computers, laptops. printers and peripherals. Set up new user domain accounts. image and configure new computers and laptops. Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology or a related field preferred . years’ equivalent work experience in IT Support preferred. Knowledge of computer hardware. including desktops, laptops. printers, wireless access points, networking equipment. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-volume/high pressure environment. Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7 and above; Windows Server 2008 & above). Knowledge of Apple Products (iPhone, iPad, iMac, Mac. Book Pro, Mac. Book Air). Experience with Microsoft Active Directory preferred. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and question skills. Strong writing and documentation skills, proven analytical problem-solving abilities. Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Comp. Tl. A A Certification required. MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) Certification preferred.Network Certification preferred. Security Certification preferred.
