The Chassis Dynamics/ Powertrain Engineering team is responsible for the development, design, and integration of chassis systems and ICE/ EV powertrains into industry-leading heavy-duty specialty vehicles. Chassis Dynamics includes, but is not limited to, axles, suspensions, wheel-end components, steering systems, and drivelines. Powertrain includes, but is not limited to, gas and diesel engines, transmissions, cooling packages, exhaust systems, aftertreatment systems, and E-motors. Both design groups contribute to on-highway vehicle chassis models produced by Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicles for applications including trucks, buses, R - Vs, and motor coaches. Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 - $91,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. What You Drive at DTNA Uses computer-aided engineering (CAE) to solve complex vehicle design problems using finite element analysis (FEA) and multi-body simulation (MBS), and fatigue analysis. Designs and develops mechanical products, components, or systems including applying mechanical engineering principles to develop products, components, and systems that involve movement. Collaborates with marketing and other departments to develop products that meet technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype mechanical products and assemblies. Knowledge You Should Bring Requires a BSME or BSMET degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. Requires basic understanding of theories, practices, and procedures related to job field. Works within standard practices and procedures to analyze information and problems. Works within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines. Exceptional Candidates Might Have Strong oral and written communication skills. Working 3 D design experience. Passion for automotive work.
