The Grants & Contracts Officer will execute the pre-award administrative functions for the Office of. Research with external funders (federal, local, private) according to their requirements. The incumbentwill also assist the Office of Sponsored Accounts in tracking spending and awards management. Inaddition, an extensive understanding of human research regulations and federal guidance is desired asthis position will manage the IRB process at the university, and advise and assist investigators regarding federal,local, and university policies regarding compliance. The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $99,500 - $105,000 annual. Responsibilities 1. Advise faculty on proposal requirements, budget development, and complianceconsiderations 2. Review submitted protocols for completeness and compliance of federal andinstitutional guidelines .. Ensure all required internal approvals and routing steps are completed 4. Track proposals, awards, and assist with in-house awards management for burn rates andfederal/private compliance .. Work with investigators to ensure completeness of applications, and writecorrespondence to investigators to communicate decisions of the IRB.6. Monitor regulatory environment and recommend changes as needed to universitypolicies, processes, and guidelines .. Attend IRB meetings, record deliberations, and write meeting minutes. Ensure thatminutes are accurately recorded, and prepare final version for IRB approval .. Assist with the training of students and faculty on all IRB processes and procedures. 9. Maintain knowledge of Federal regulations, including the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and working knowledge of 21 CFR parts 50, 56, 312, and 812, and 45 CFR 46.10. Work with others in the Research Office team to modernize workflows through theuse of electronic records. Have working familiarity with office-relevant software (we are a. Google-based campus) Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience working in university sponsored programs/office of research inpre-award operations, including IRB determinations, budget review, and federal preawardsubmission protocols. Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification:Administers and coordinates all functions for pre-award proposal routing, review, and submission inaccord with 2 CFR 200 and sponsor agency guidelines. Working knowledge to administer and overseethe University's Institutional Review Board (IRB). This includes receiving and reviewing researchproposals for completeness and adherence with IRB policies, institutional requirements, and. State/ Federal codes, rules, and regulations (45 CFR 46). Work involves planning, developing, andimplementing IRB policies and procedures and providing technical assistance to faculty
